Putin: No new grain deal until West meets demands in full

Russia has emerged from crunch talks with Turkey and is now refusing to extend a critical grain deal crucial to the world’s food supply. In the Russian resort town of Sochi, the formal meeting yielded no changes and instead an ultimatum from the Russian dictator.

Despite much anticipation and hope that Russia would cooperate grain deal negotiations have exploded. According to reports, the Sochi meeting between Putin and the President of Turkey fell through because Russia felt its own demands were not being met.

The meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdogan yielded one response from Russia. In Russia’s response, Putin has made it clear that the grain deal will only proceed when restrictions on shipping and insurance are lifted. Russia has faced a staggering njnherod restrictions and international sanctions since its unawful invasion of Ukraine.

In other news, Russia simultaneously announced that six African nations will benefit from an upcoming deal. In the deal, which is in its final stages, would see grain delivered to Zimbabwe, Mali, Burkina Faso, Eritrea, Somalia, and the Central African Republic.
