New York ‘s infamous Rep George Santos is now staring down the barrel of major indictments. This week, federal indictments came down against Santos following years of persistent rumors that he is a notorious fraudster.
A new movement following the indictments is picking up steam. According to social media posts, a group of House Republicans from New York are working together to remove Santos from office. It comes after the massive 23-cvount indictment revealed that Santos has in essence been using his campaign and position for personal gain or benefit.
“Today, I’ll be introducing an expulsion resolution to rid the People’s House of fraudster George Santos,” Rep. Anthony D’Esposito, R-N.Y., said in a post on the social media platform X.
To get the boot, they’d have to get a two thirds majority vote to expel Santos.
