Miranda Sings’ star Colleen Ballinger is once again in the headlines and this might come as not so much of a shocker to some at least according to former staffers. A PA who worked on Haters Back Off has come forth revealing that Ballinger has a history of using racial slurs and making such remarks and even using them in a storyline.
In a shocking blog post, a former PA who worked alongside Ballinger on the set of her Netflix show Haters Back Off, has come forth with allegations that involve a toxic; racist, and problematic workplace environment that had been led by Ballinger at the time. That PA April Korto Quioh in her blog post described how the ordeal played out in 2016 and often involved weird tropes that never quite made sense.
She says: “I recall overhearing her once brag that a creator was being ‘cancelled’ for saying the n-word (and if you think she went with ‘N-word’ instead of hitting that hard ‘r,’ then you haven’t been paying attention) and that she would never be stupid enough to get caught doing something like that.”
In case it couldn’t get any more bizarre, Ballinger allegedly had a penchant and made a lot of effort to push for herself and ‘Uncle Jim’ (one of her many characters in this whole bit) to have a sexual relationship despite her entire situation being centred around children.
April then explains: “It all felt deeply wrong — she would show us photos of the packed rows of smiling children who had attended her show the night before, and in the same breath, spend hours trying to think of a way to show Miranda and Uncle Jim all but having actual sex on screen.”
