Twitter ‘s in trouble again

Twitter can’t seem to get its act right according to legal documents out of San Francisco. The company is attempting to cheat landlords out of rent in an effort to ‘cut costs.’

Twitter is facing down the barrel of a legal nightmare after news surfaced over the weekend that its landlord out in San Francisco has sued them. According to docs, Twitter is being sued for $136,000 for unpaid rent at its swanky San Francisco office and it isn’t the only one they’ve not paid for as of late.

Elon Musk hasn’t paid rent in weeks at most of Twitter ‘s office as part of a so-called cost cutting measure but it is coming at a price. A price that is carrying a legal headache that could pose a grave threat to the company’s future.

The landlord Columbia Reit actually informed the company on 16 December that they’d have to vacate the offices within five days they did not formally comply. In fact, Twitter is also being sued for a similar problem pertaining to charter flights and not paying for those either. Recently, it emerged that as a result of not paying rent (but not able to avoid lawsuits) offices in Seattle and at least one in New York City are set to be shuttered amid financial struggles.
