Kamala Harris is headed to the DMZ on Thursday

White House officials announced this week that American Vice President Kamala Harris is headed to South Korea on Thursday and will visit a number of official sites. According to the announcement, Harris will also visit the DMZ that divides North and South Korea while meeting with officials and service members in the area. The visit is part of a strategy by the Americans to reiterate to South Korea their commitment in ensuring that any threats from the North are quickly neutralized.

The DMZ is about a 160 mile long stretch of ‘border’ that is often considered by a longshot the most armed border ever. Threats from the North have long existed, but so far, have not amounted to much of anything despite increasing propaganda from Kim Jong Un.
