A union representing more than 75,000 total American government workers is suing to stop the government from defaulting on its debts. According to a lawsuit filed by The Nat’l Association of Government Employees the group claims in its suit that the debt limit is ‘unconstitutional’ and would otherwise furlough thousands of innocent workers.
Filed in Massachusetts the lawsuit comes just weeks ahead of an apparent ‘gridlock moment’ by the Treasury. If America in fact defaults even the Treasury won’t be able to sell its own securities to pay for basic things.
