Reps for the Guardian have confirmed to multiple outlets that the news agency was the victim of a massive cyberattack after hours on Tuesday night. According to the outlet, London employees have all been instructed to work from home for the rest of the week as the attack is further investigated.
“We believe this to be a ransomware attack but are continuing to consider all possibilities,” Guardian Media Group chief executive Anna Bates and editor-in-chief Katherine Viner told staff. “We are continuing to publish globally to our website and apps and although some of our internal systems are affected, we are confident we will be able to publish in print tomorrow.”
