Report: Some in the U.S State Department divided over whether to go after Israel for alleged violations of international law

According to a new CNN report, sources inside the State Department are out with claims that the department is in a bit of a dispute over whether to determine whether Israel is in fact in violation of international law.

The Lowdown

The report out Sunday revealed that the State Department is struggling to determine if claims that Israel isn’t violating the law are credible. Israel back in February was first required to submit the assurances to the U.S. following a memorandum by U.S President Joe Biden. At the time, the memorandum stated that Israel must provide assurances that the weapons provided weren’t being used in violation of any international law human rights, or related law.
