Sam Bankman-Fried ‘s political donations are now under the microscope to the tune of nearly $40m

Bankman-Fried was a man of many so-called talents often intertwined with his ability to deceive the public about what he was really up to. However, those weren’t his only talents and actions as his political donations are now coming under the microscope. Federal records reviewed by Bazaar Daily News reveal that Bankman-Fried pumped more than $40m in campaign cash to various groups; campaigns, and committees all mostly aligned with the Democratic Party.

Many of these campaign contributions are under further scrutiny amid claims that Bankman-Fried illegally made them through Alameda Research (his hedge fund like company) and then filed them as if they had come from other people. Under the law, this is a no no and has resulted in claims that he knowingly and willfully violated campaign finance laws on numerous occasions.
