Insulin is a life-saving medication for many Americans approximately 1.9m folks in the country depend on it. Depend on it in a way that makes it a life or death type medication due to Type 1 diabetes.
It’s so bad in the U.S these days a single vial of the common medication was $21 in 1999 to $332 in 2019, or about $1,000 per month for a typical Type 1 patient. 1.3m of those people in a new study have been found to be among those forced to skip or entirely go without their life-saving medication due to the obscene cost.
It is one of many obscene examples of healthcare gouging Americans just for the right to stay alive.
