California has now banned most flavored tobacco in an effort to crackdown on smoking

This was a voter approved measure for those curious about Prop 31 in the Golden State.

California is leading the way in hoping that smoking as a whole diminishes especially among young people. According to CBS Los Angeles, Prop 31 passed this week in the state. Prop 31 originally passed in November with a 63% approval rate by voters meant that flavored tobacco products of most kinds are now banned in the state. Retailers are now lawfully required to remove them from their shelves as of Wednesday.

Marijuana users are also affected. The new rule also hits flavored wraps commonly used.

California isn’t the only place to do so but it is the most extreme of the bans outside of Massachusetts.

New York and Rhode Island also have their versions of bans but for the most part California ‘s is the only in which most tobacco products are actually included.
