Carlee Russell the now infamous Alabama woman whose kidnapping hoax went viral has learned her fate. According to reports, Russell has plead guilty to two charges of filing a false police report.

In a somber courtroom in Jefferson County, Carlee Russell the infamous Alabama woman who gained infamy over her kidnapping hoax learned her fate today.
Russell according to reports spoke for the first time in court about her infamous hoax.
“I want to genuinely apologize for my actions, and the resulting negative impact inflicted onto others. I made a grave mistake while trying to fight through various emotional issues and stress,” Russell said. “I’m extremely remorseful for the panic, fear and various range of negative emotions that were experienced across the nation.”
She was handed a sentence of supervised release for 12 months; $18,000 in restitution to the city of Hoover, and 100 hours of community service.
