Biden to cancel more student debt this time totaling $1.2B

Big news for students. According to the White House, some 150,000 people more are expected to receive student loan relief amid renewed efforts by Biden’s administration to give people a second chance.

The Lowdown

According to the White House, this time relief applies to those who would’ve been or are eligible for the SAVE program and borrowed under $12k and have been repaying the monies for at least ten calendar years.

Biden so far has cancelled $138B in student loans against nearly universal Republican opposition.

This ‘will particularly help community college and other borrowers with smaller loans and put many on track to being free of student debt faster than ever before,” the White House said this week.
