Weeks after the Titan 5 explosion that killed all 5 of those onboard, the company behind the sub has announced that it is ceasing operations. According to the Oceangate website, all future operations and travel have been suspended for the foreseeable future.
The subtle announcement on its website reads, “OceanGate has suspended all exploration and commercial operations.” It comes amid questions by authorities in multiple countries who are investigating whether or not the controversial company (who was known to have cut corners) broke any laws.
