They’re using #BlackHistoryMonth to boost revenue, but in the shadows these companies are funding dark political players

If you’ve been in a Wal-Mart or something similar these days you’ve probably noticed that like many retailers Wal-Mart has jumped on Black History Month. This isn’t unique to Wal-Mart; AT&T and quite a few other major players but there is one unique feat of this that is making headlines. Despite these companies openly using Black History Month as means of shameless self promotion and attempts to boost revenues — they’re doing some pretty dark stuff behind the scenes with their money.

According to new research, the following companies (all of which have publicly been on the Black History Month train) have donated in some form or fully to none other than people like right-wing Florida governor Ron DeSantis. Some of those companies (there’s a full list click here to see the piece) have been identified as Amazon, AT&T, Comcast, Disney and Walmart.

For example, Charter Communications, reportedly gave upwards of $200,000 to a political action committee known as Friends of DeSantis. Also as well $125,000 to the Republican party of Florida and $205,000 to the Republican Governors Association – both huge donors to DeSantis.
