Elizabeth Holmes tried to go on the run after her conviction in her historic fraud trial prosecutors allege in bombshell documents

Fraudster Elizabeth Holmes is back in the headlines. According to prosecutors, the fraud queen herself tried to make a run for it to Mexico following her conviction a while back.

Documents filed this week in the case against convicted fraudster Elizabeth Holmes have painted a very movie worthy story against the American con artist. According to documents filed by prosecutors, Holmes at one point following her conviction last year for fraud in the case of her fallen company Theranos — tried to flee the country to Mexico. Officials allege that she had intentionally bought a one-way ticket to Mexico without telling anyone and had mapped out an entire plan to flee the country and never return.

The wild claim surfaced as a result of documents being filed demanding that Elizabeth be arrested and sent to jail instead of living large on a massive estate believed to be worth allegedly $100m+.

“The government became aware on January 23, 2022, that Defendant Holmes booked an international flight to Mexico departing on January 26, 2022, without a scheduled return trip,” the court filing states. “Only after the government raised this unauthorized flight with defense counsel was the trip canceled.” The court filing does include an interesting tidbit from an e-mail from her defense attorneys that maintain that the booking was made before the verdict was actually handed down.

Prosecutors are seeking to have her locked up by April and remove her ability to remain free while she fights for an appeal.
