Capitol rioter who thought it was cool to lounge on Pelosi ‘s desk has learned his fate

The now infamous Capitol rioter who thought it was a bright idea to lounge on former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ‘s desk has learned his fate. According to CNN, Richard Barnett (perhaps the most infamous of the rioters) is set to be sentenced in May after being found guilty on all 8 counts related to his role in the attack on the Capitol.

Barnett, 62, attempted to testify last week that he was ‘looking for a bathroom’ when he stumbled upon the speakers office and later encountered two news photographers. He claimed at the time he was instructed to ‘act natural’ before he posed on the desk.

“Did it dawn on you that what you were doing could cause some trouble?” defense attorney Joseph McBride asked Barnett. “I was just in the moment,” Barnett replied.
