Prosecutors are seeking 15 years in the case of notorious fraudster Elizabeth Holmes

Meanwhile, her defence is attempting to stake a claim to just 18 months under house arrest instead. In a new court filing, Elizabeth Holmes is facing the prospect of going away for a very long time for her crimes or possibly not. According to the filing, prosecutors are seeking upwards of 15 years for her crimes of lying to investors; harming patients, and the outright fraud she committed as the head of Theranos. Theranos as many know was an infamous blood testing company that lied about the way its products actually worked.

Prosecutors are also seeking to nail Holmes for more than $800m in restitution meaning she would essentially be paying restitution for life. The Guardian reports that despite the recommendation she still faces the grim possibility of being locked up for 20 years for her notorious scam.
