Elizabeth Holmes is now claiming she deserves a new trial

Fraudster Elizabeth Holmes is making headlines once more in her quest to be freed from the likely possibility of a very long prison sentence. According to the AP, Holmes lawyers filed paperwork this week in federal court detailing why they believe the conwoman deserves a new trial.

In their documents, Holmes legal team argues that the testimony of one Adam Rosendorff may have been wrong or misinterpreted because they now claim he regrets having testified to begin with. Though it’s worth noting that Rosendorff has not made this claim himself but rather it comes from Holmes directly. AP reporters managed to get in touch with Rosendorff via LinkedIn but he refused to speak to the media under any circumstances.

Holmes lawyers interestingly made a claim in one of the documents that does state Rosendorff himself expressed discontent with his testimony but it is unclear if this is true. Inside the document it is claimed that he allegedly showed up to Holmes home she shares with her partner though he wasn’t permitted to see her — an encounter that took place on 8 August. Lawyers also claim that during this alleged encounter he repeatedly said that he had misgivings about his testimony and that he felt prosecutors may have blindsided him.
