Scientists at Boston University are making headlines for some pretty scary reasons but one can hope they’re taking safety precautions pretty seriously. According to the research, researchers and scientists have apparently taken it upon themselves to create a new strain of the Coronavirus that is about 80% deadly in the mice in which it was tested on. This is understood and widely believed to be how the original pandemic came to be in the first place except over in China and not the United States.
Research notes that 8 in 10 of the mice tested on at Boston University ‘s lab actually died during the tests. Reports show that the created variant of the virus is a mutated version of the Omicron variant and the original variant that had been found in the now infamous wet market out in Wuhan China.
The scientists also infected human cells with the hybrid variant and found it was five times more infectious than Omicron.
