Liz Truss has been chosen to succeed Boris Johnson as Prime Minister, but will she be any better than the last?

Liz Truss (who models herself after none other than Margaret Thatcher) has been chosen to be the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Truss won the leadership contest among dues-paying members with more than 81,000 votes to Sunakj’s roughly 60,000 votes. Truss managed to cruise to victory on grounds of tackling the growing energy crisis (bills are through the roof); the cost of living crisis, and her plan to supposedly lower taxes.

However, lowering taxes might be difficult according to multiple members of her own party who have told several outlets that they fear such policies will cost them the election next time around. Conservatives currently have the majority which will enable Truss to be invited to form a government when she along with Boris Johnson meets the Queen at Balmoral.

Interestingly, Truss likely will be forced to cooperate with her peers including her now former foe Mr. Sunak in more ways than one. Truss will have to lean into accommodating a likely wide range of views; policies, and other things as Prime Minister simply because more people (MPs) voted for Sunak than they did her.
