U.S banks and airlines went offline yesterday it probably will only get worse from here

It’s set to be a troubling time for Americans as the future takes hold because hacks and infrastructure problems are bleak. According to the New York Post, banks and airlines alike struggled to stay online this week (including payment processors like ADP and such) to the point that they had caused backlogs for common everyday users. Flights spanning multiple airlines were cancelled by the numbers even as scores of people sit stranded in airports far from home.

The massive outage also hit Amazon sites, Shopify, Stripe, Twitch, Reddit, the UK government’s homepage, The New York Times and CNN, among others, NPR reports.

One of the biggest hits came at Southwest which recorded thousands of user reports of severe flight delays and system outages.
