Ghislaine Maxwell has plead not guilty to her now historic sex trafficking charges

Former socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has plead not guilty for the first time formally. According to published media reports on Tuesday, Maxwell, 58, confirmed via video link that she has chosen to plead not guilty.

Initially, Maxwell ‘s lawyers argued that she should be granted $5m bail and have the right to hole up at a luxury NYC hotel. However — the judge presiding over her case wasn’t having it and ended up actually reportedly declaring along with the prosecution that she indeed is a flight risk.

Maxwell apart from her time with Epstein — has a long documented history of sophisticatedly hiding her finances and whereabouts. Prosecutors from the beginning had latched on to that out of fear that Maxwell would use her celebrity and finances to flee America once-and-for-all.

According to court records, Maxwell will now have to remain locked up until her trial in July 2021. Although due to COVID-19 and overcrowding, that may change in the near future.
