The truth about the end for Gloria Vanderbilt

Iconic socialite Gloria Vanderbilt passed away earlier this month after battles with her own health. Extraordinarily, she lived quite the interesting life and made quite the fortune while having done so. In her younger years, Vanderbilt snapped up properties in Florida and in Miami — but legal troubles with staff members and two lawyers led to the demise of those homes.

Born to immense wealth, by the time Vanderbilt was 21 she had a personal net worth of $4m. But it was the lavish spending and attempting to keep up with the Vanderbilt name that left her with far less than she had been accustomed to in life.

This likely accounts for the fact that Vanderbilt did not leave a trust fund behind for her son, CNN journalist Anderson Cooper.

The Mail Online has a complete portfolio on the life of Gloria Vanderbilt.
