CARNIVAL NIGHTMARE: NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL TURNS BLOODY

NOTTINGHILL —  Trouble in London today as the investigation into why  the Nottinghill Carnival turned near deadly over the two-day course of the festive fun.   According to local police, 1 man was stabbed while dozens of others were arrested (and an additional 49 knives were seized by authorities).

Ian Duncan Smith, ehum, is now leading the charge for  police to increase stop-and-search protocols after the bloody nightmare began yesterday.   The Daily News spoke to multiple festival-goers who confirmed that knives (and drugs) were being snuck into the festivities  right under the eyes of police.

A spokesperson for the Scotland Yard confirmed in phone calls early this morning that more than 385 locals and travelers were arrested during the crackdown on violence and weapons beginning last night.

Pressure has now turned formally to mayor Sadiq Khan, as,  killings in the city have topped 100 as of this writing — a terrifying feat for a city that  has been largely OK for decades.

A total of 142 people were arrested for drug offences, 69 for carrying weapons, 18 for assaulting a police officer, 12 for assault and nine for sexual offences.

What is a Section 60 order?

According to The Scotland Yard, a Section 60 order is a police commander style-order that allows local police (within reason) to stop-and-search anyone they feel  may be carrying weapons in anticipation of violence.    The order was issued as of 11:59PM (BST) Monday night , and,  was in effect until last night the last day of the carnival.
