Elon Musk is trying to turn X into a platform that does not allow people to publicly block each other and the idea has sparked widespread backlash

Elon Musk is back in the headlines with a new less-than-smart idea. According to X, Musk is considering fully removing the block button from public profiles and the ability to flat-out block somebody. Of course, the idea has sparked outrage among X users because the site almost daily at that is riddled with online harassment since Musk’s takeover.

If Elon Musk gets his way a bizarre new idea will be coming to the platform. According to posts from Musk, the platform is weighing the idea of totally removing the ability to block user to user (like say blocking Musk entirely for example.) It is not clear why the platform is exploring such an idea but many have pointed out that it likely has something to do with the performance of ad revenue and performance at a time that many are rage posting; rage baiting, and all around engaging in often problematic engagement in the name of monies.
