An arrest warrant for Vladamir Putin has been issued but it is anyone’s guess if the int’l community will have the guts to jail him

EDITORS NOTE: We’d like to remind the world that Vladamir Putin is far from the first dictator or politician to commit war crimes; crimes against humanity, stage an invasion of another country, and so on. Actually, if we’re being entirely transparent, Putin is so far removed from the first one there’s an entire list of people who deserve an arrest warrant make no mistake.

Issued by the ICC it is unclear who may end up enforcing the warrant if it happens at all. Russia does not actually recognize the ICC, however, other countries do but the recognition varies. The Court also issued an arrest warrant for Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, on similar allegations. The court found that Vladamir Putin ‘was directly’ responsible for all but kidnapping innocent children and forcing them across the border into Russia or Russian-controlled territories.

They found with “reasonable grounds to believe that each suspect bears responsibility for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population and that of unlawful transfer of population from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation, in prejudice of Ukrainian children.”
