Putin’s next move? Moldova says Russia may be planning to invade its country to overthrow government

Intelligence appears to suggest what western powers have hoped to avoid during the war. According to The Guardian, the President of Moldova has confirmed Ukrainian intelligence reports that Russian warmongers are plotting an attack on the country to overthrow its pro-EU government. The country’s President discovered such after Ukraine ‘s President told European officials last week of the hatched plan as a whole.

The plan allegedly includes plans of citizens from countries like Belarus and other Russian aligned enemies to have their citizens cross over into Moldova sparking protests.

“The Kremlin’s attempts to bring violence to Moldova will not work. Our main goal is the security of citizens and the state. Our goal is peace and public order in the country,” Maia Sandu said.

“The purpose of these actions is to overturn the constitutional order, to change the legitimate power from Chișinău to an illegitimate one that would put our country at Russia’s disposal to stop the European integration process, but also so that Moldova can be used by Russia in its war against Ukraine.”
