Billy McFarland the scammer behind the ill-fated infamous Fyre Festival is back with a new project

The Fyre Festival was an infamous ‘festival’ set up by a group of scammers who otherwise tricked wealthy young influencers to travel to a deserted island. In the scam, they were misled to believe that a lavish party would take place but instead were conned into what some called ‘prison like conditions.’

McFarland best known perhaps as being one of the greatest fraudsters in recent memory (next to the likes of Anna Delvey that is) appears to be catching flack already. Back in October of last year, McFarland apparently quietly launched a new project via social media that didn’t quite pick up steam until recently. If you’re wondering if it is similar to that of the ill-fated Fyre Festival, brace yourself, because it in fact is according to numerous former Fyre Media employees who spoke to NBC News (some on the condition of anonymity.)

So what’s he doing now?

So glad you asked. According to the internet, Billy McFarland has ironically helmed a new project that is pronounced as if the name is spelled Pirate. The new project is apparently called PYRT (pronounced like Pirate, we promise we didn’t laugh to hard finding this out.)

“I was talking to somebody yesterday and they’re like, ‘You can crawl in a hole and die, or you can go and try to do something and just like not promise any results,’’’ McFarland said in a recent interview with NBC News.

In the new project, McFarland unironically is still chiming on about the Bahamas and ‘lavish excursions’ according to what we could find on the internet. Marketing is fairly mysterious about the project which is a red flag in itself (please don’t be stupid enough to fall for anything McFarland is selling folks.)

This is our public service announcement for the week.
