George Santos and a drag queen named Kitara

This week in George Santos has amounted to at least three new aliases; a penchant for drag (which there’s nothing wrong with except if you’re a GOPer apparently), and a denial from Santos himself. Earlier this week, a drag performer in Brazil posted a series of photographs online that appeared to confirm George Santos previously performed under the name Kitara in Brazil. It is the latest of many apparent secrets that Santos has kept from the public about his time in Brazil alongside the current criminal investigation currently against him in the country also despite his denials about that particular situation.

“The most recent obsession from the media claiming that I am a drag Queen or ‘performed’ as a drag Queen is categorically false,” Santos, who has been the subject of international headlines for weeks for fabricating parts of his résumé, tweeted Thursday morning. “The media continues to make outrageous claims about my life while I am working to deliver results.”

Earlier, drag performer Eula Rochard posted the photographs on Facebook which triggered a fast-spreading wave of criticism for Santos. The photographs appear to be from around 2008 after they had appeared in a Brazilian newspaper at the time (which Santos denies.) Rochard also claimed in the social media post that she met Santos originally way back in 2005 and he was often a habitual liar with an ‘outgrown sense of grandeur.’
