Republicans are in trouble because they’re engaged in a wild power struggle

In part because there’s an ongoing power struggle among party members. According to reports, Kevin McCcarthy is still struggling to get the req’d number of heads to vote for him to assume the role of Speaker of the House. Without a concrete leader in place, this also threatens the very agenda in which Republicans have promised their voters. Thin on actual policies and an ‘agenda’, their ‘agenda’ is more of a game of tit-for-tat back at Democrats with a series of already floundering investigations.

This week McCarthy announced that races for committee chairmanships have effectively been postponed until after the 3 Jan Speaker vote set to take place that day. The delays; arguments, and scrambles for power are delaying everything from ‘investigations’ to firing the so-called head of counsel in lawsuits against various parties (including one against convicted criminal Steve Bannon) and other pet projects of the GOP.
