Amid Chicago ‘s struggle to contain gang and shooting violence the city has taken a dramatic new step to stave off deaths from said violence. According to NBC Chicago, city officials have spent the past week or more installing what are called blood control kits — that essentially would save someone’s life (assuming one knows how to use them.)
426 kits are installed in 269 buildings around the city, according to Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications.
