There might be something wrong with your Peleton, here’s what you need to know

Peleton is fighting back against consumer reports that its treadmill service might be a little more dangerous than originally intended. According to the U.S government, there have been 39 consumer reports to the Consumer Product Safety Commission validating several dangerous instances on the machine including at least one death of a child.

CNN reports that the issues have arisen over the past year or so but it is unclear how many more there may be. Peleton issued a statement over the weekend downplaying a reported video of a child being harmed by the machine citing the safety measures of the machine. Peleton devices do indeed come with a series of safety instructions.

“The Tread+ includes safety warnings and instructions in several places, including in the user manual, in a safety card left on top of the Tread+ tray on delivery, and on the product itself,” Peloton said.
