What to watch on TV this weekend — a handy list of suggestions from us

We’re back in our new T.V guide for this weekend.

  1. Defending Jacob (Apple TV+)

Alike The Undoing — if you’re into neurotic white women who apparently live in bizarre bubbles in a crime-solving choose your own adventure movie this one is definitely for you. A mini-series on Apple TV+ it surrounds the family of Jacob and his parents when he is 14 and accused of the murder of his friend. While it seemed pretty clear cut from the beginning, there in fact, was something far more sinister going on. It is definitely not your typical crime show and is the least bit guess-able.

Rating: 3 1/2 stars

2. Mariah Carey ‘s Christmas. (Apple TV+)

There is absolutely no introduction needed. This is also on Apple TV+.

3. Midnight Sky (starring George Clooney) (Netflix)

Midnight Sky starring George Clooney is what we imagine to be an end-of-the-world type film (we think.) About a scientist who is unable to contact a group of astronomers returning from Space in the midst of a global catastrophe that could end mankind. If you’re sensitive right now to the Coronavirus, probably shouldn’t watch this one it might seem a little too real.

Rating: 3 stars

4. Alice in Borderland (Netflix)

Okay okay okay this is our pick of the week because it is and excuse the language — creepy as hell. It’s like a twisted game show from the future that abruptly only ends if they makt it out alive. A group of dorky Japanese boys in Tokyo find themselves plunged into a deadly game of survival only to realize that along the way during the game — someone must die before they can it out alive.
