Within hours of that very confirmation from the court, Mitch McConnell made it clear that Trump ‘s presumed nominee will see their time on the Senate floor no matter what. It’s critical here to remember why this matters.
During Obama ‘s term and his then nomination of Merrick Garland, er, Mitch refused to see the nomination because it was very close to an election at the time. But that doesn’t seem to matter this go-around because Republicans are terrified they’re going to lose and doing everything to cement themselves before that happens.
