Streaming Guide: Here’s what we’re watching across platforms this week

This week has allot in store for folks on television (and of course we don’t mean cable because we’re not boomers guys and gals.)

** All of these are available on Hulu **

  1. The Watchful Eye

The Watchful Eye is perhaps one of our favorite new shows. Elena a young woman with a murky and complicated past finds herself in Manhattan after having weasled her way into working for an affluent family as a nanny. The only problem is that not everything is as it seems and people in the fancy-schmancy Greybourne building are far more sinister than they seem.

Rating: B+

2. The Boston Strangler

**BASED ON A TRUE STORY ***

Younger folks may not recognize this story but it in fact is a true story that unfortunately in more ways than one may not have been fully solved. The Boston Strangler starring Kierra Knightley tells the story of the infamous period of time in the 1960s in which 13 women were viciously and violently strangled to death. Following the story, two reporters risk it all to uncover the truth about what would later become known as the ‘Silk Stocking Murders’ and the identity of who did it. Later the killings were attributed to Albert DeSalvo based on a confession he gave to authorities.

Rating: A+ (Knightley’s performance was FANTASTIC in this movie)

3. The Rookie Feds

Alright we might be a bit of a stereotype here but who doesn’t love a good FBI procedural drama. Starring the always funny Niecy Nash The Rookie Feds explores the adventures and often mishaps of a group of FBI agents sent around the world to fight bad guys (until the tables turn on one of their own.)

4. Alaska Daily

Starring Hollywood veteran Hilary Swank Alaska Daily explores the lives of a group of reporters at the aforementioned Alaska Daily. Often the target of death threats; crazed lunatics, and others Alaska Daily brilliantly explores the vital importance of local journalism and its existence. Eileen Fitzgerald (Swank) joins forces with another reporter to investigate a high-profile string of murders involving indigenous women.
