Start the day here: UK ‘s PM expected to be announced today, Trump ‘s criminal trial and more as Monday begins

Good morning and good day to everyone logging on to read this morning’s headlines. It’s Monday and there’s allot going on in the world today so sit back and read along as we go over the morning’s big events and a recap of the weekend.

  1. The UK is in political turmoil once more.

But that turmoil could soon be over amid reports that the next Prime Minister is set to be announced this afternoon. We’ll follow along throughout the day to keep everyone updated about whom it is once we have a confirmation.

2. Trump Company is headed for a criminal tax trial today in Manhattan

Accused of avoiding taxes; handing out luxe rent-free apartments and more the Trump Company is standing trial beginning today in Manhattan for tax evasion. According to reports published over the weekend, the company’s trial is set to begin this morning but Trump himself is expected not to partake. He is understood, however, to have signed some of the checks that are being presented in the trial. It is the only criminal trial to emerge from the many attempts against Trump by New York to lodge legal troubles against his company for their efforts to commit tax fraud.

3. Harvey Weinstein

The sex assault trial of fallen mega producer Harvey Weinstein is on the block today in Los Angeles. Weinstein, 70, has been jailed since the initial many accusations that were originally made against him (almost all of them in shocking detail.) Weinstein out in Los Angeles stands accused of assaulting multiple women and this is the second time he’s standing trial. He is facing up 23 years in prison.
