Danish Queen strips grandkids of royal titles as royal families move in new direction

Danish Queen Margarethe II is making headlines for some pretty interesting reasons. According to the palace, Queen Margarethe has announced that 4 of her grandkids are being stripped of their royal titles beginning 1 January as the Monarchy seeks to get in line with other royal houses.

The children of Prince Joachim, the younger of the queen’s two sons, “will only be able to use their titles of Count and Countess of Monpezat, their previous titles of Prince and Princess of Denmark ceasing to exist,” the statement said according to reports including one by the AFP.
