Pakistan is appealing to the international community for help amid some of the worst floods likely ever. According to reports, officials place the formal death toll at more than 1,280 as of this time with more than a third of them believed to be children. Part of the reason why Pakistan is experiencing such heavy floods is due to monsoon rains and the melting glaciers in its mountain regions.
At one point in the massive flooding more than a third of the country was in fact underwater. Officials have indicated that the two areas hit hardest are Balochistan and Sindh, in southern Pakistan.
