Solomon Islands admits it DID sign sketchy security pact with China as the West aims to clamp down on the country’s influence

China is as many know seeking to extend its influence far beyond its current regional area. According to reports, that area now includes the Solomon Islands as the Prime Minister has admitted the country is in bed with Beijing. Reports out Tuesday found that Prime Minister Manesseh Sogavare who made the shocking announcement amid fears that any moves by Beijing are calculated and very intentional. The announcement comes just a day after a U.S Coast Guard vessel was barred from docking at the port in the capital city of Honiara.

‘The United States received formal notification from the Government of Solomon Islands regarding a moratorium on all naval visits, pending updates in protocol procedures,’ a spokeswoman from the US embassy in Australia said in a statement.
