Police forces are trying to label reporters as extremists according to new memo

A shocking new internal police memo has people across the U.K talking today. According to the police guidance memo, journalists and reporters of any kind should ‘be labeled as potential terrorists or extremists.” Such a declaration has sent newspaper groups into a frenzy over claims that such a categorization would make said jobs all that much harder. Critics also claim that it will make it harder for the public to know when crimes happen and how they are investigated by authorities.

Parts of the memo refer to journalists as “persons who would obstruct influence.”

The College of Policing, the umbrella group providing guidance for the forces of England and Wales, also says that officers must disclose when they have various kinds of people including but not limited too: criminals and journalists.
