The U.S has shuttered its two remaining consulates in Russia amid deepending row over intelligence failure

Amid the deepening row over Russia ‘s alleged plot and later infiltration of the U.S government, the two remaining American consulates in the country have been shuttered. According to reports — the only remaining diplomatic outpost in the country now sits in Moscow.

CNN reports that the move was confirmed by the State Department in the U.S as the weekend took off. The growing row between Russian officials and the West has escalated following comments by multiple Senators that Russia had ignited an act of war.
