MANHATTAN — When in doubt, uh, your Wednesday morning begins with cuffs on your hands instead of a Starbucks latte in your hand. According to federal authorities and the NYPD, GOP Rep Chris Collins surrendered to police Wednesday on a slew of federal charges.
Authorities say that Collins, uh, along with multiple co-conspirators conspired to evade more than $768,000 worth of losses by providing non-public information to his son about a pharma company. That company, Inate (for those that don’t know), had recently developed a drug for people with secondary multiple sclerosis. The company is known as Inate Immunotherapeutics.
The feds in the U.S, allege, that Collins provided insider secrets about the company to his son so that the duo could “facilitate timely trades”. Collins, reportedly surrendered in peace and is awaiting trial in Manhattan. The insider trading had apparently spanned at least two continents, and, three different countries.
