BATON ROUGE — In what may be one of the hardest situations we’ve ever had to watch unfold, the wife of Alton Sterling, and child, have spoken out amid Sterling ‘s police-sponsored murder. According to USA Today, who captured the video, Sterling ‘s wife had plenty of words for the officers who shot Sterling multiple times in the chest even though no gun was present in his hands.
“As a mother, I am forced to raise a son who is going to remember what happened to his father. That I can’t take away from him,” McMillon said. “He is at an age of understanding. I hurt for him and his loss as a parent. One of the greatest fears is to see your child hurt and know there’s nothing you can do. ”
McMillion acknowledged that Sterling had a criminal record, but like others, shouldn’t be judged for his past. “He wanted to change” she said during the press conference.
