A New Zealand MP is learning the hard way this week of simply doing what’s right even if it means just to keep yourself out of jail. According to reports, Golriz Ghahraman the first refugee elected to parliament resigned after CCTV footage showed she lifted from 3 different clothing boutiques.
Ghaharaman was caught per the BBC on CCTV footage swiping items from 3 different clothing boutiques in Auckland. In one instance, she took a designer handbag from one boutique in particular. She has since addressed her resignation in a full statement which can be read here.
