NY Governor Kathy Hochul under fire after alleged pay-for-play scheme revealed involving COVID-19 deals

New York ‘s controversial Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul is under fire once again. According to reports out this week, Hochul ‘s apparent dealings leading up to a massive COVID-19 business deal are now making headlines. Some reports do indicate that Hochul may have played a hand in one particular business getting roughly $637m in deals and COVID funds. The allegations surround a political fundraiser that took place last year around 22 November — which a particular donor named Charlie Tebele took part in and this is where it gets pretty dark.

A massive investigation by a newspaper in northern New York found that Hochul ‘s campaign received about $300,000 in donations to her war chest following her declaration of a COVID emergency disaster declaration a month after the infamous fundraiser. Those donations came directly from Tebele and his family who own the New Jersey-based Digital Gadget company which the state bought 52m COVID tests from at the time for twice the price as others did. Places like California bought directly from manufacturers and actually spent much less.

The New York Post has further rounded up many of the most recent donations from the Tebele family amid the controversy over their latest one. Hochul ‘s office did not return calls for comment.
