There appears to be a serial killer targeting Washington D.C & New York City ‘s homeless population, here’s what to know

Last updated on 2022-03-14

EDITORS NOTE: A serial killer is typically defined as someone who has attempted to or managed to murder at least 3 or more people as defined by its general definition. In the sense of this killer, it appears that there have been at least 5 or more victims spanning Washington D.C to New York City the latest having been found just a while ago in Lower Manhattan. It is unclear if the killer is purposely targeting only the homeless population or may turn up with more victims at a later time.

Police believe that the man on the right seen in D.C and wanted for murder is the same killer who struck New York City over the weekend seen on the left.

SO HERE’S WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR ACCORDING TO D.C POLICE & THE NYPD.

  1. The attacks began as early as 3 March in D.C near 1100 block of New York Avenue. This victim was shot and wounded but is understood to have survived.
  2. Two days later, H. Street saw the same lone gunman brazenly open fire on two men in the area both sustaining non- life threatening injuries.
  3. The attacks turned deadly when last Wednesday cops discovered the body of homeless man murdered in an encampment near the area.
  4. Following that, the perp is understood to have traveled to New York City (warning: cops are unsure if the killer is still in New York City.) At that point, he attacked the first two victims in the Big Apple on King Street in Soho. Injuring one killing another before his rampage in Manhattan took flight.
  5. On Sunday, shortly after 6:30 pm another victim was found dead after having been shot multiple times outside of a Chipotle restaurant near Murray Street in Manhattan.

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK — The NYPD is asking the boroughs to remain on high alert this weekend and into the new week as news of a reported serial killer has hit the Big Apple. According to police, they’re searching for the man seen in the photograph below who is understood to probably be traveling and may be in a vehicle of some sort. Cops say that the man is also wanted in connection to a number of murders or attacks in Washington D.C namely around the H Street area.

Police say that shell casings and such recovered from the scene in Soho and in Tribeca both appear to match casings found in D.C. Residents in the area including homeless people are being asked to remain on high alert and to pay attention when in public especially at night or after hours. It does appear that all of the attacks at least in New York City have been done under the guise of night are deep into the night hours.

“Our homeless population is one of our most vulnerable and an individual praying on them as they sleep is an exceptionally heinous crime,” NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said in a Sunday night statement.

“We will use every tool, every technique and every partner to bring the killer to justice,” Sewell said.
