While Russia invades Ukraine, Taiwan has confirmed reports of Chinese military planes in its air space

Amid the wide-ranging invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces and war criminal Vladamir Putin — the Taiwan government might have its own problems on its hands. According to government officials, military personnel and fighter jets spent their afternoon warning off at least 8 different Chinese military planes that were found in its defence zone.

Officials confirmed that at least eight J-16 sorties and one Y-8 reconnaissance aircraft were found illegally in the zone sparking fears that China may be readying an attack. It appears they were found in around the area of the Taiwan-controlled Pratas islands.

The local government has increased its alert level as officials continue to eerily watch the invasion of Ukraine unfold. It is understood that the Chinese jets did not get close to Taiwan this time but it is unclear exactly why they were in the Pratas Island this time around. Chinese military personnel have harassing Taiwan for about two years, but, the ruling Communist Party may try and use the Ukraine invasion as means to invade Taiwan.
