SEATTLE, WASHINGTON — COVID-19 cases in the Pacific Northwest are once again on the rise and that means the local government is enacting more restrictions. According to Governor Inslee, indoor gatherings with people from outside the home are banned and there are more restrictions beyond that.
Per officials, those restrictions are as follows and may be subject to change if the COVID situation worsens.
“We are today in a more dangerous position than we were in March, when our first stay-at-home order was issued,” Gov. Jay Inslee said in a news conference. Most of the measures go into effect Monday at midnight and extend through December 14. “The time has come to reinstate some of the restrictions on activities statewide to preserve our well-being and to save lives,” he said.
Gatherings are banned however they can go ahead if people quarantine for fourteen days prior and receive a negative COVID test. Outdoor gatherings are limited to five people maximum.
Religious services will be limited to 25% capacity and choir and band performances are also banned throughout the holiday season. The orders will not change childcare or K-12. The new restrictions will last through at least 14 December.
