In a vital year and amid a pandemic, the Trump Administration is poised to allow doctors to discriminate against LGBTQ people

Yet another Obama era rule has been rolled back by the creepishly weird Trump Administration. According to reports, Trump ‘s draconian administration has reportedly rolled back a healthcare regulation that made it illegal to discriminate against someone for being on the LGBTQ+ spectrum in any manner that may relate to their healthcare. The change goes hand-in-hand with the Trump Administration + the conservative movements’ agenda to almost universally dismantle gay rights sin America.

The rule was first proposed in May 2019 as the Trump Administration ‘s efforts to dismantle gay rights took flight.

The change comes in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, a time when *everybody* regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity needs equitable and accessible healthcare. For the Trump administration, this now means that doctors can: discriminate openly against people they deem or assume are trans/gay, house patients in rooms/areas based on their assigned gender at birth, and of-course allow insurance companies to once again blanket-ban things related to gender-reassignment surgeries.

A previously published 2010 medical study found that an extraordinary chunk of the trans population felt or experienced some form of discrimination or harassment in a medical setting.
